**YOUR POSITION WITH TNC**:
The Chile Country Program Director, an entrepreneurial leader, oversees all aspects of the country program. Provides strategic leadership and support for the Conservancy’s conservation planning work, establishes conservation priorities for the country, set conservation priorities to optimize its contribution to TNC´s conservation agenda, builds relationships with local and international stakeholders, actively manages risks and safety, contributes to the definition and execution of revenue strategies and communication strategy, and provides leadership to country staff. Acts as legal representative, spokesperson and leads local institutional and governmental relations.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
The Chile Country Program Director is a dynamic,





high-level strategic thinker and an effective manager/leader able to inspire and lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement ambitious place-based conservation strategies that deliver across environmental, social and economic dimensions. They establish the Conservancy as a major conservation partner and serve as the main contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations, private companies and the academic community. They develop key partnerships with public & private organizations in order to accelerate impact and achieve scale through resolution of technical issues, advancement of key policies, and mobilization of resources. They play a leading role in donor identification, cultivation and stewardship for the program.





They promote best practices, provides training and analyses to best implement organizational measures of success, and advance solutions, innovative scientific methods, analysis, tools and frameworks to drive the changed needed at systems level. They engage across a range of key stakeholders, from local communities to government agencies to corporations to generate options for conservation efforts and more sustainable production practices including the development and negotiation of complex and innovative solutions. They are responsible for ensuring effective and efficient operations in the country, professional development of the staff, and advancing TNC’s Living our Values program, including the Gender, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (GDEI) program.





The Chile Country Program Director is responsible for the conservation and communication achievements, and funding of the program, with support from the communication conservation, fundraising and finance team. They will leverage expertise and resources from across TNC as well as outside the Conservancy, to deliver on TNC’s 2030 goals.

The Director will oversee a team of approximately 50 people to implement the conservation agenda in Chile.

They should have proven experience in fundraising from public and private sources. They should be comfortable working at the CEO and Ministerial level, preferably bringing previous experience working with a board.





The Director collaborates with other TNC units across TNC to access and leverage the human and financial resources to deliver conservation results. The Director works closely with other peers across the region, maximizing synergies and opportunities for collaboration.

They should be an individual with high ethical standards, high emotional intelligence, excellent reputation in the conservation, academic and/or business sector, and a track record of getting things done. The Director raises program funds both in the United States and with in-country public and private funders, and participates in conservation, operations, finance and marketing. They are accountable for the Conservation Program’s success and for maintaining strict adherence to organizational values.

This position reports to the Regional Director to Accelerate Impact (DAI).
