As a Security Engineer, your specific responsibilities will include:
- Be familiar with security best-practices, as well as Robert Half's security policies and standards.
- Review system designs and assess built-out environments against best-practices, policies and standards
- Work with vendors and internal teams as needed to ensure any outstanding issues are resolved appropriately in a timely manner.
- Evaluate new and emerging products and technologies, from a security perspective
- Assess, document and implement mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities discovered that may impact the company.
- Involved in the evaluation of products and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Support team and vendors to understand project requirements and help them to develop secure solutions to support business needs
- Provide security review and certification to ensure best practice and quality delivery of all technical solutions that meets our security requirements.
- Work with project teams on risk remediation.
- Create detailed records for identified risks.
Qualifications:
- BS in computer science or similar technical degree or 2+ years’ working experience in IT technical field.
- 3+ years’ IT security engineering experience or a non-technical degree with 5+ years’ security engineering experience.
- Professional certifications from bodies such as: ISC2 (CISSP, CCSP, SSCP), ISACA (CISM, CRISC, CISA), or similar, are desirable
- A good understanding infrastructure, such as network and operating systems.
- Good understanding of networking principles and security technologies such as, TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, Firewall, DLP, SIEM, Web Proxy, WAF, eDiscovery, Cryptography,
Mobile Device Management (MDM), DRM / IRM, Cloud computing (SaaS, IaaS), Cloud Security, Vulnerability Assessments, Endpoint Security, SDLC, Application Security tools, (etc).
- A good understanding of security concepts, such as vulnerabilities, risks, threats, and controls.
- A good understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS and or Azure.
- An understanding of the Microsoft Power platform is desirable.
- Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise.
- Adaptability and demonstrates good judgment.
- Ability to communicate business process to technical resources.
- Ability to write simple queries and reports is desirable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of security systems software.
- Ability to work to a project plan, meeting established deliverables and timelines.
- Ability to use good judgment and think outside the box in addressing unique information security challenges.
- Ability to gather requirements and create assessment plans.
- Ability to think independently and in team setting to ensure security issues are addressed in a manner consistent with security principles in mind
The typical pay rate for this position is $40.38/hour to $62.02/hour. The rate is negotiable depending upon experience and location.
