Accountant

A rare opportunity has arisen with my global energy Client for an experienced Accountant to join their operation in Santiago, Chile on a permanent/staff basis. This is a great opening for an experienced accountant to join my client's financial team at a time of great opportunity and development. The Accountant will report to the finance manager and the main duties of the Accountant is to administer my Client's accounting processes, ensure the validity of accounting information and tax compliance and confirm the accuracy of relevant reports.

The duties of the role will involve, but not be limited to:







- Main role is the bookkeeping and the proper and on time posting of all accounting transactions in my Client's books for both tax and interoffice purposes.
- Ensure that all bank accounts and credit card statements are monthly reviewed and reconciled.
- Prepare periodic reports on tax laws and relevant regulations.
- Prepare special books required by SII (Professional fees, purchase and sales books, payroll book, among others) and filing tax returns (VAT, ICT, withholdings to third parties, sworn statements or any other required by SII) on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
- Input data for payment process of social welfare (Previred or any other required).
- Produce monthly / quarterly management accounts, projections and other relevant reports and analysis.
- Prepare any other financial report that is necessary from time to time (payroll, OPEX analysis etc.)
- Process my Client's Payroll as per information received from the Administrator coordinator.
- Provides support for timely closure of finance audit recommendations, participate in preparation, implementation, and monitoring of corrective action plans






- Maintain updated, e-folders in my Client's cloud but also in properly organized hardcopies files, all the documentation generated from his/her activities or those under his/her control.Reports to Finance Manager and supports this role as required.
**Essential Skills / Qualifications**:You will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- University Degree in Finance and/or Accounting (a master's degree will be considered an asset)
- At least 5+ years of relevant professional experience (preferably in the construction industry - EPC based).
- Financial reporting experience under IFRS and familiarity with key accounting judgements for engineering services businesses and accounting for long term projects.






- Knowledge in the management of administrative and pension government portals (Previred, Ministry of Labour, among others)
- Previous experience with local accredited accounting software (e.g. Softland)
- Exposure in international working environments
- Solid knowledge of Accounting and General Chart of Accounts.
- Solid communication skills, teamwork mentality and able to pay attention to details
- Strong organizing and planning skills, problem solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of SAP will be considered an asset.
- Excellent use of English language (both oral and written) is essential






- Must be comfortable to travel as some business travels to various sites within Chile might be required (a maximum of 30% travel may be required within the year).
