This position is located in the Physical Security Unit, the Safety and Security Services, Division of Administration. Under overall supervision of the Chief Security Officer, the Electronic Engineering Technician reports to the Lieutenant Chief of Physical Security Unit.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall supervision of the Security Lieutenant of the Physical Security Unit, the Electronic Engineering Technician will be responsible for the following duties:
Specialized Duties:
1. Supports the supervision and control of preventive and periodic maintenance suggested by the manufacturers of the equipment that makes up the electronic security subsystems.
2.





Verifies at a logical and physical level the operation of the electronic security subsystems.
3. Supports the programming and integration work of electronic security equipment.
4. Supports the training, qualification, and use of electronic security equipment.
5. Update the "As Built plans", of any modification or relocation of the electronic security equipment and channeling.
6. Participates in the exercises of the ECLAC Evacuation Plan, supporting technical assistance.
7. Assists and supports the Lieutenant of the Physical Security Unit, in the definition of the technical requirements and planimetry for the Electronic Security projects for ECLAC and its respective Regional Sub-headquarters, including the UN Agencies, Funds and Programs in Chile.
8. Assist and suggest contingency measures for the operational continuity of all electronic security subsystems.
9. Perform other duties as assigned General Duties:
Supervisory functions
1. Assist the Physical Security Unit (UNDSS)





in the delivery of technical information for the development of instructions and operating procedures for the correct use and handling of equipment by Security Officers.
2. Support the supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance of Electronic Security systems and subsystems.
3. Assists and coordinates at a technical level with other units (STIC/FMU) the needs for technical equipment.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job - Specific Qualification
Diploma in Electricity/Electronics/ or Computing or ICT trades is required.

Relevant training and expert knowledge (certification) of electronic security systems such as Software CCURE 9000,





Closed Circuit Television System VICTOR and SIMPLEX fire control panels or alike is desirable.

Work Experience
At least three (3) years of progressive and proven experience in Electronic Security systems (Access Control, Closed Circuit Television, Perimeter Control, Fire Panels and Servers) is required.

One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Experience working in an international work environment or abroad is desirable.

Experience working in an international organization is desirable.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat and Spanish is a working language of ECLAC. For the position advertised, fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
