This includes water treatment equipment, ozone remediation equipment, rentals and leases, system integration, consumable supply (chemical, parts, filters, membranes, and exchange services), system service and automation nationally and internationally. We support water treatment projects for industrial, remediation, food and beverage, water reuse, agriculture, power & utilities, breweries, and winery customers.

**Position Objective**:
The Mechanical Design Engineer (ME) is a full time position. The ME reports to the Vice President of Engineering.





The ME’s responsibilities are focused on designing the mechanical, electrical and automation subsystems for H2O Engineering’s water treatment products. The ME acts as a technical advisor to other H2O Engineering departments; and, collaborates as needed to develop new products, treatment technologies and methods, refine existing designs, participates in research and development, as well as organizes product documentation including drawings, ECOs, procedures, and user guides.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Create 3D mechanical layout, assembly and part fabrication drawings using SolidWorks 3D modeling software
- Create Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID;’s) for new system designs and proposals using AutoCAD
- Determine component specifications for overall system designs and create component Bill of Materials to assist procurement
- Work with automation, and production team members to ensure proper process design of all equipment






- Monitor fabrication work by production team for quality and accuracy to drawings.
- Create assembly instructions and installation procedures for production department staff to follow
- Perform Quality Control testing and operation of final equipment assembly to certify equipment works properly
- Create and update Operation and Maintenance Guides for all products
- Prepare technical information for equipment/product datasheets
- Specification of equipment for purchasing, issue RFQ’s to vendors, quote comparison, vendor selection
- Perform component strength and failure analysis using SolidWorks Analysis Tool
- Lead technical discussions & presentations to clients
- Support Sales Department personnel with mechanical design for system proposals






- Review client specifications and communicate with client’s technical representatives
- Write project controls specifications to be used by automation engineering team
- Support engineering team members in all other engineering duties, including mechanical and electrical design and documentation, quality control, and manufacturing engineering QC where needed

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Size electrical and mechanical subsystems for water treatment equipment (filters, pumps, RO systems, ozone injection systems, ozone sparge systems, etc.)
- Create electrical schematic diagrams for equipment power distribution
- Interact with Purchasing to source and specify new components and support system fabrication questions/concerns






- Support Research and Development with technical research including existing patents, methods, white papers, etc.
- Assist in answering incoming customer phone calls and redirect as necessary
- Assist Service Department when necessary to resolve issues involving mechanical and control systems
- Manage licenses for AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Electrical QC including point-to-point
- Mechanical QC and label installation
- Review and redline PDs and LDs
- Create UL labels
- Determine SCCR and NEMA ratings
- Travel as required for project start-ups

**KNOWLEDGE AND **SKILL REQUIREMENTS**
- Strong mechanical design knowledge; specific attention to welded steel structures, plumbing and electrical conduit routing






- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently without direct supervision
- Utilize task management system to set deadlines, prioritize project work and meet those deadlines
- Work under moderate supervision, make independent technical decisions
- Ability to facilitate and participate in group meetings
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule
- Strong organization and record keeping skills
- Good customer relations and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge/experience with fabrication drawing creation and mechanical product design, and some electrical
- Direct experience with MS Office, AutoCAD and SolidWorks (3D and Electrical)






- Familiarity with the engineering, design, and project management of water treatment processes, products, systems, and facilities
