**Responsibilities**:
- Investigates plant performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for process control related issues.
- Evaluates in-field equipment performance, providing technical reports and conclusions.
- Evaluates and recommendation of process capital improvements.
- Serves as on-site field engineer for design, construction, and implementation of pilot and demonstration projects.
- Focuses on waste and cost reduction programs, process improvements, and engineering service requests from internal & external stakeholders.
- Proposes, plans,
and supports process testing plans.
- Creates, maintains, and develops plant engineering documentation for plant operation (e.g. SOPs, design basis memorandums, process control narrative, shutdown key, line lists and P&IDs; etc.).
- Serves as a process expert for Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
- Provides a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.
- Performs other related duties as designated by supervisor.
**Tasks**:
- Leads investigation, resolutions, and corrective actions to process issues and failures associated with quality and reliability.
- Monitors and improves the stability and variability of processes using statistical process control.
- Travels to various sites to implement new process equipment and monitors the quality of construction and operation.
- Develops and leads cost reduction projects and productivity improvements around instruments, control architecture (PLC), and process equipment.
- Validates and approve new methods,
processes, products on site.
- Create, reviews, and improves standard operating procedures, operating manuals and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensures that all process-related engineering documentation are updated and accurate.
- Assists with training on-site personnel on new process and procedures.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering,
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in process engineering within a chemical processing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated experience with process control design and optimization, strongly preferred by not required.
- Must be familiar with PID control and troubleshooting.
- Proficient with various CAD software (i.e. Solidworks, AutoCAD, ASPEN etc.)
and preparing engineering documentation.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) processes.
- Familiarity with technical standards, from associations such as ASME, AWWA, NCh, IEC, ASTM or equivalent.
- Must be willing to travel to site (50%).
- Effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Spoken and written knowledge of the English & Spanish.
**Additional Nice-to-haves**:
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma.
- Familiar with managing small
- and medium-scale projects.
- Strong Leadership Attributes and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with a strong understanding of engineering due diligence.
Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
