Objective: The Applications Engineer DTH Drilling is responsible for providing technical support (application knowledge), supervising and optimizing the use of downhole drilling tools in various drilling applications. He should ensure the efficient operation of DTH equipment, provide technical support, application knowledge, and product knowledge to sales areas and collaborate with R&D; to provide feedback on product performance.
Your Role:
A DTH Drilling Application Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the use of Down-the-Hole drilling tools in various drilling applications. This role involves ensuring effective operation of DTH equipment, providing technical support, application knowledge, product knowledge to the sales areas and collaborating with R&D; to give feedback on product.
Requirements:
- Experience in working with DTH application (DTH experience is a must).
- Technical skills: proficiency in DTH drilling, including operation and maintenance of DTH hammers and related equipment.
- The position is a technical support role, not a commercial job, but must perform consulting, recommendations, and support the commercial team in product development.
- Ideal residence in order of the requirements of the position: 1. Chile, 2. Peru, 3. Mexico.
- Will provide technical support to Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, etc.).
- University degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related functions.
- Advanced English and Spanish (required). Ideal Portuguese.
- Ability to travel inside and outside the country. Must make customer visits.
- Class B Driver's License.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DTH drilling operations to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Training: Develop and deliver training programs for operators and sales area personnel on the use and maintenance of DTH tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D;, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand what is required to optimize the drilling processes.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and collect data on drilling performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all drilling operations comply with safety regulations and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of drilling operations, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in DTH drilling, including the operation and maintenance of DTH hammers and related equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical issues effectively.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Safety Focus: A strong commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety protocols.
- Languages: Fluent in both Spanish and English.
- Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail to ensure drilling operations are conducted efficiently and safely.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve project goals.
