Based in Chile and reporting to VP WQ LATAM, the General Manager will develop and grow a dynamic team to support a $20MM company (U$ 10M in Chile and U$ 10M in Perú, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia). The individual will manage the P&L; in Southern Cone region for growth and profitability, developing and executing sales, marketing, operation, engineering, and service strategies to achieve the growth targets.
**To achieve all the above, the GM needs to**:
develop and implement the business strategy, from its original conceptualization all the way through the sales, projects, and operational processes. determine the most efficient organizational structure. attract the best personnel in the industry in Southern Cone.
make sure that all personnel have the right support and training to perform his/ her responsibilities, and. establish an open and entrepreneurial working environment.
**Specifically, this position will be responsible for**:
Operational
Drive all business activities to achieve the business strategy, profitable growth, and operation in Southern Cone Region.
Manage the complete profit and loss (P&L;) for the country / operations, including financial metrics (contribution and growth margin, Working Capital, Operational Profit, etc.) as well as sales and operations-related ones such as revenue and bookings, market share, and all other related to the launching and commercialization of new and existing product lines and in additional integrated projects.
Assume full accountabilities for all commercial and operations-related activities (sales, projects, customer service, services, finance, HR, IT, marketing, EHS, etc.) in collaboration with the Latin America functional leaders as applicable
Ensure 100% compliance of all aspects related to the internal business conduct (e.g., the Code of Business Conduct, Ethics, IT policy, compliance to our insurance policies, etc.), and the external one (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley, Regulatory, financial and tax law, health, and safety, etc.)
Ensure use of DBS´ (“Danaher Business System”) set of tools and processes for continuous improvements and other tools and processes related to direct planning, monitoring, problem solving and reporting of results against plans and budgets
Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but also owned by the management team and other employees
Ownership of integrating bolt-on acquisitions and driving cultivation new projects and initiatives to bring about new potential targets
Drive efforts related to the localization of product development, innovation-related efforts, and its delivery.
Strategic
Develop a vision and strategic plan for the Southern Cone business based on past success and future, understanding the market tendencies and business needs.
Provide senior leadership and direction to the direct and distributors teams. Develop, a comprehensive annual sales plan.
Lead and execute the development of a 3-year strategic business and operational plan.
Contribute to senior management’s knowledge of product/market status through the regular submission of field intelligence and sales reports.
People Development
Defines roles and responsibilities, manages,
coordinates and coaches’ members of the Southern Cone team.
Sets performance and development goals. Gives feedback to all team members on a regular basis.
Develop talent within the team to ensure effective succession planning and career development.
Business Development
Drive Southern Cone agenda for Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances
MAIN FOCUS OF JOB ROLE
Full P&L; management, with a focus to increase sales revenue and gain market share while driving cost efficiencies and productivity
Maintain a high profile for the Water Quality Division (WQ) and continue to be in a leading position as market leader in Southern Cone region
Motivate and drive improvement on employee engagement in the Southern Cone Team
Build and maintain strong relationships with key experts relevant to the WQ business in Southern Cone
Support process of localized partnership and product development in Southern Cone
Absolute focus in talent attraction, retention, and development
SUCCESS MEASUREMENT
Achievement of targets - predominantly contribution but also appropriate metrics to support the contribution e.g., units, market share, revenue, expenses.
