Senior Payroll Analyst

At Compass You Will:

- Assist in oversight of payroll processing activities from end to end
- Review existing processes and identify areas of strength and vulnerability for efficiency and best practices
- Assist with curating the vision of our payroll initiative to become more efficient and scalable
- Analyze employee earnings, including hours worked, commissions, bonus,





and vacation payments across multiple jurisdictions for our bi-weekly payroll
- Process manual/off-cycle check payments as required and act as back-up to team members as needed
- Respond to multiple management team and employee inquiries regarding payroll using Zendesk Suite
- Run audit reports and variance analysis on earnings and deductions flowing through payroll. Research and resolve discrepancies independently
- Participate in quarter-end processing and reporting and prepare and process payroll amendments as required
- Process garnishments and perform year end task including W-2 reconciliation
- Complete audits and reconciliation of payroll information and provide outside auditors payroll related data for 401k and workers compensation
- Participate in Workday testing events as system upgrades are implemented and/or special projects as business needs change
- Collaborate with the HR and benefits team to ensure data changes are captured timely






- Assist with training team members in payroll procedures and perform all other payroll processing duties as necessary

What We’re Looking For:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as Workday Payroll SME
- Experience handling payroll for over 3,500 employees in a team environment
- Preferred experience with Workday ERP Suite: payroll, time & attendance, general ledger, and custom reporting modules and working knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance
- Strong Experience with multi-state payroll; processing payroll tax amendments and W-2 reconciliations and state and local tax registrations
- Excellent communication skills with Implementation and project management experience
- Advanced Excel skills,





analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and creatively
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and experience with SOX compliance audits
- CPP certification a plus
- Self-motivated and well composed with the ability to work in a deadline driven and SOX compliant environment
- Required competencies include attention to detail, demonstrated ability to multi
- task and balance multiple projects and payrolls at once, comfort with analyzing large amounts of data, problem solving ability and the ability to operate in a fast-paced and highly confidential setting with mínimal supervision
