Job Description
The Technology Consultant of Software & Control (SWC) business in the assigned territory applies technical and commercial expertise to demonstrate our capability to the customer. Works with Sales Account Managers when opportunities are identified. Serves as a technical and commercial product expert to develop and present sales proposals, systems solutions, and close complex technical sales. Enable partners to amplify business (distributors and system integrators). Involved in main marketing activities to promote portfolio and launch new products.
**Key Area(s) of Focus**:
- Protect SWC existing business and win market share in Chile.
- Enable partners to increase SWC business.
- Launch new SWC products in Chile.
- Increase Software business through partners.
**Role and Responsibilities**:
- Articulates capabilities and benefits of RA technology for implementers.
- Delivers demo and proof of concepts.
Demonstrating value early during positioning of the technology (influence early in customer specifications).
- Commercial expertise to lead sales account managers and partners.
- Provide product base training to RA and partners when business demands it.
- Win market share through system conversions of our competitors.
- Marketing activities: participate in trade shows, webinars, demonstrations, present papers to specialized magazines, speaker in marketing events.
- Launch new products in the region.
- Close coordination with Regional BU Managers to evaluate main projects and commercial support from BU.
- Understand business model, RA strategy framework and global and local initiatives to support the implementation of those.
- Understand business drivers and KPIs from RA customers.
- Leverage the use of RA tools.
- Clear understanding of RA prices and packages of value of RA proposals.
**Basic Qualifications**
- Electronic/Electric/Civil Engineer or equivalent degree.
- Ability to travel within the country on a regular basis.
- Intermediate level of English (ability to have a conversation).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in Chile as required for the specific position. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in automation, control and software responsibilities.
- 3 years of commercial experience (selling, launching new products, marketing activities, partner development or support).
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Knowledge of process control systems and software beyond traditional programming or SCADA systems.
- Experience working with all levels of customers including VPs, managers, plant engineers and OEM machine builders.
