The Automation Engineer will help develop, manage and execute plans for deploying changes, improving reliability and performance, boarding user groups, and improving the services provided by the technology team that supports software development tools.
**What You’ll Do**
- Contribute as a (senior) DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation
- Be a champion for DevOps principles and culture change
- Design and implement monitoring and self-healing processes
- Identify and Implement Process Improvements and documentation
- Design and implement orchestration/workflows that integrate multiple services to provide self-service fully automated services.
- Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model
- Configuration and change management
- Develop and document operations run books
- Lead and develop team from a technical and managerial perspective
- Participate in and provide feedback on systems engineering and design
- Provide input on the future execution of the delivery and management of environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resilience
**Must Haves**
- BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required
- 5-7 years in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CICD) roles
- 3-5 Years working with Jenkins integration server, designing and developing pipeline libraries
- Extensive experience with Scripting tools like Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Extensive experience using SCM tools like: Git / Github
- Experience managing project costs, schedules, scope, and risk, with appropriate reporting of status and variance.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools,
Confluence and JIRA
- Experience with scripting tools
- Excellent verbal, written and ‘attention to detail’ skills
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- A sound understanding of SDLC Methodologies including Scrum and Agile Principles
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams including Infrastructure Services, Business Technology, Security and Operations and facilitate conversations that lead to agreed direction
- Ability and desire to work with people all over the world, with the probability of a varying work schedule to accommodate different time zones
**Extra Points for any of the Following**
- Experience with one or more Public Cloud Providers (Google, Amazon, Azure)
- Experience using tools/technologies to develop infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet
- Experience designing/developing Policy as Code
- Software development experience in 2 or more languages
- Experience in system administration for OS (Linux, Windows) and/or middleware (web servers,
- Experience working with Containers (Docker) and kubernetes
