**Job Description
- PURPOSE**
Implement Anglo American´s JV Strategy to grow the business in a sustainable and profitable manner.
KEY TASKS
**Safety, Health & Environmen **t**
- Ensure consistent functional strategy, standards, and procedures deployment in alignment to zero harm policies and elimination of fatalities.
- Develop JVs specific plans/systems to reduce exposure to business risk.
**Performance & Delivery**
- Lead the JVs ensuring compliance with shareholder agreements, governance, international and local regulations in a sustainable and profitable manner.
- Deploy engagement strategy to build long-term relations with JVs, NMJV and co-shareholders.
- Ensure the maximisation of JV´s long-term pathway.
- Inform the Committee about the state of the JVs to ensure the information is up to date and the stakeholders and shareholders are properly and timely informed in alignment to Anglo American´s corporate governance model.
- Deploy and Implement the Operational Business Plan in the JVs in alignment with Anglo American´s Strategy.
- Manage the portfolio in charge to grow the business in the long-term.
- Adopt new technologies to accelerate business growth.
- Advise JVs on technical matters that grant operational business continuity plans.
**Sustainability & Social**
- Integrate Anglo American’s approach in the Growth Strategy to both sustainability and social performance as relevant to the discipline to improve business performance over time.
- Deliver the Sustainable Mining Plan commitments as set out in the plan.
**People & Teams**
- Promote and implement a purpose-led, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity.
- Assure the Operating Model and Organisational Model implementation and sustainably deliver 5-year plan
**Compliance**
- Ensure adherence and compliance with JV board members, corporate governance, and local legislation in alignment with internal AA standards, making necessary changes and updates when needed.
- Develop of specific JV plans to reduce exposure to business risk.
**Qualifications**:
- Knowledge
- A bachelor in mining, metallurgist, chemical, industrial, or related field engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience.
- Other academic courses in strategic business management,
environmental management, economics and/or finance.
- New technologies and their impact on operational activities within the scope of their position.
- Standards in engagement and risk management techniques and critical control.
- Requirements in matters of safety, health and environment, legislative, legal, regulatory and permits.
- Regulations for environmental authorizations and permits.
- Development of capital projects.
- Ability to gain an understanding of global best practices related to managing strategic partnerships.
- Knowledge of director responsibilities. Certificate of Board Director should be obtained.
- Knowledge of competition law or antitrust training and the appropriate confidentiality arrangements and information barriers / ring-fencing where relevant competition law protocols require.
Technical Skills
- Advanced English and Spanish language skills
- Experience working with different senior stakeholders (Internal and external)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to solve complex problems and work multi-task simultaneously
- Experience and knowledge of the mining business
- Monitoring of benchmarks and identification of performance gaps.
- Management of work packages in a portfolio of project activities.
- Data analysis and management for decision making.
- Stakeholder management to determine and implement engagement processes taking into account the scope, duration and impact of capital projects
