Under the leadership of the Chief Impact Officer of Salesforce, the Impact Innovation & Engagement Team works to advance Salesforce's and our customers' capabilities to more effectively run toward social and environmental outcomes. We are a small team with diverse experience in Product Management, Service Design, Human-Centered Design, and Impact Measurement.
We help bridge the external - engaging and supporting key influencers in impact management - with the internal - measuring Salesforce’s impact, maximising Salesforce and partner products to lead these impacts,
and supporting the development of new product and service offerings. We work across industries to advance Salesforce’s impact on issues including Climate Action, Racial Equality & Justice, and Education & Economic Opportunity.
We research and engage in changes in regulations, standards, and practice in order to innovate and build new experiences for the collection, management, use, and reporting of impact data. We collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and with some of our most strategic customers and partners, as a trusted advisor on impact management.
**About The Role**:We are looking for an experienced UX Designer to join the Impact Innovation Team. You will work with research, design, product, and Business Technology team members across the organization, as well some of our customers and partners, to advance social and environmental impact management at scale. Your day-to-day work will be done in concert with the Senior Director of Impact Management Systems, your direct manager,
and the Senior Manager of Impact Innovation Engagement, the team’s lead on Strategic Customer and Partner Engagements. You will serve as a bridge connecting the Impact Innovation Team with design, product, engineering, and other teams.
**Help Design the Experience of our Internal Impact Management Systems**:
We want to be Customer 0 for our current and emerging products for measuring, managing, and reporting our social and environmental performance and impact. This work includes:
- With team leadership, work closely with Executives to understand Salesforce’s long-term ESG & Impact vision and direction and their expectations for our ESG & Impact performance management.
- Interview ESG and Impact Program Directors and technical staff to discover problems and evolving needs for our current systems in light of our vision and direction.
- Produce wireframes, storyboards, concepts, and other collateral to help communicate the opportunities from using current and future products, as well as the value of any new capabilities that are needed.
- Maintain an awareness of the new capabilities product teams have on their roadmaps to advise configure vs. build and timing decisions.
- Once we are in agreement to pursue a change in our internal systems, collaborate with our Business Technology colleagues to fully define requirements, the implementation plan, and any organizational change that’s needed.
- Coordinate with product teams to incorporate our internal user research into their systems for product feedback, requirements gathering, and roadmap planning.
***Lead UX Design in Our Strategic Customer and Partner Engagements**:We are working to advance the infrastructure for social and environmental impact management at scale by proactively engaging with customers who have national or global influence. These include NGOs & Gov't agencies creating care coordination infrastructure, financial services firms creating sustainable and social finance infrastructure, major public and private grantmakers, ESG & impact standards bodies, impact data aggregators and rating agencies, and others. This space is constantly evolving and our customer engagements enable us to build capacity and learn. This work includes**:
- **Work with designers, strategists,
technologists, and account teams to conduct specific innovation engagements with key customers and partners.**
- **Create conditions that enable participants to successfully move through the Human Centered Design process - from complex, high-reaching questions toward producing collaborative prototypes; serve as the UX lead on these engagements.**
- **Use the same methodologies and assets as user research and UX teams to reduce complexity, costs, errors, and to support seamless handoffs.**
- **Find opportunities for us to align with impact-related frameworks, methods, and standards.**
**Collaborate on User Research & Prototyping With Product Teams**:We work very closely with the related product, research,
and other teams to have an aligned vision for impact management at scale, inclusive of Salesforce products and beyond. This work includes**:
- **Leverage our team’s engagements and market research, as well as other teams’ ESG & Impact-related research and roadmaps,
