Manager Data Privacy and Security

LOCATION

SAN RAMON

As Manager, Data Privacy and Security, your specific responsibilities include:

- Manage and lead interactions with the Protiviti and RH (the "Company") Global Privacy Office to ensure the Company’s ability to comply with privacy by design and data protection principles for its products, services, and processes.
- Assess privacy inquires, identify privacy risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond and to provide support and timely solutions.
- Consult and provide advice to the Company on complex and developing legal and business strategies in data privacy.
- Manage, operationalize,





and further mature the Company's global privacy program, including, but not limited to, the development and implementation of data governance, data mapping standardization, privacy impact assessments, transfer impact assessments and cookie banner compliance initiatives.
- Support Policy awareness and monitoring activities for sustaining adequate privacy compliance.
- Identify areas of improvement in the Company's practices relative to managing data privacy.
- Facilitate the performance of privacy assessments of the Company's operational processes, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Support and lead the privacy incident (including incidents of data breach) reviews and responses in collaboration with the Global Privacy Office and Information Security to Protiviti clients and to individuals exercising their data rights.
- Stay abreast of privacy/data protection laws, regulations, and public policies in the jurisdictions in which the Company operates.
- Provide privacy expertise for data governance teams,





maintaining alignment with the Global Privacy Office.
- Manage a team that works closely with our domestic and international business stakeholders, business and IT management, internal audit, and legal counsel to understand business requirements related to security, privacy, and regulatory compliance, and to map those requirements to current security, privacy and project requirements with intermediate to complex level needs.
- Advise, and work with senior leadership of the department, and senior executive management, to develop, adopt, review, and analyze key Company policies related to data privacy.
- Communicate privacy program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to the Company's key stakeholders as needed.
- Support the drafting,





revising, and maintaining of the Company's policies and guidelines with respect to data protection and privacy.
- Advance privacy accountability and compliance across the Company through effective tools, training, communication, and guidance.
- Provide counseling and legal guidance to other associates reviewing and negotiating data privacy agreements. Ensure contracts are in compliance with applicable data privacy laws.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's data protection policies, procedures, and practices. Other duties as needed.
- Engage proactively in professional development of direct reports,
- Take ownership of own career, seeking areas of opportunity for growth and development,





maintaining active professional certifications and/or licenses.
- Attend professional development training regularly, including both internally and externally offered programs.
- Seek to maintain leadership and expertise in the latest technologies and methodologies impacting Data Privacy professionals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. MIS, CIS, MBA, JD)
- 10+ years in related field, preferably in professional services and/or data privacy compliance industry or role.
- 5+ years of team leadership, supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced environment in a similar role, including direct experience working for a Global Organization and/or providing cross-cultural support or equivalent relevant experience.






- Basic understanding of systems development life cycle methodologies required
- Certifications such as a FIP, CIPP/US, CIPP/EU, CIPP/C, CIPP/A, CIPM, or CHPC are strongly desired
