**About the Role**:
We are seeking a Manager to lead the Communities and Innovation Procurement team in Minerals Americas. Great opportunity for a high performing professional to provide commercial leadership and drive lasting outcomes for BHP’s Local,
Community and Innovation priorities.
You will be responsible for partnering with Assets, Procurement, other functions, vendors and other ecosystem. Is responsible for defining local procurement strategies, creating awareness of procurement in creation of social value, leading the team delivering the Local Buying Program, and delivering key outcomes. Also be accountable for the Supply Innovation Program through establish partnerships with a range of innovative start-ups, research organisation and cross-industry peers; identify and deliver innovative pilots to derisk novel technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring the team to deliver value and growth opportunities.
- Working collaboratively across Supply operational stakeholders and functional Stakeholders to manage identification and execution of portfolio of incremental innovation pilots that deliver committed value.
- Working collaboratively across the business to develop and evaluate high-impact initiatives to drive economic empowerment and local entrepreneurship.
- Executive management of relationships with key partners SAWU (local buying program) and Expand (open innovation program) to ensure and efficient and effective performance.
- Developing effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand challenges and ensure the success in the implementation and scaling up of innovation projects.
- Developing collaborative relationships with external stakeholders at national and international level to develop an innovation entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Simplify and enable interfaces between Procurement teams, Innovation teams, and other internal functions.
- Support system and process simplification for community and innovation vendors and partners.
- Mitigate risk through effective contracting strategies, increasing the positive impact of BHP on local economies.
- Leveraging market knowledge, technology innovations, emerging markets and an understanding of business needs and innovation priorities.
**About You**:
This is a great opportunity for a performance-oriented leader to lead a dynamic team. Willing to deliver commercial and social value. You will need to be an effective problem solver,
influencer and possess strong communications skills through all levels of stakeholder engagement and have experience as working as part of a global team. Your ability to manage complexity and clarify ambiguity will be a key strength for this role.
You will also have:
- A bachelor degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or similar; and an MBA is highly desirable.
- Several years of relevant industry experience with a focus on commercial, supply chain, Innovation or continuous improvement areas.
- Experience leading multi stakeholders programs in collaboration with external parties, to deliver outcomes.
- Proven success in senior stakeholder management, driving and managing change, empowering people and delivering value.
- Strategic thinker with understanding of mining industry and industrial/entrepreneurial ecosystem is desirable.
- Proven ability to influence and engage across Functions and Assets.
- Ability to analyse complex business processes, risk factors and control systems.
- Risk management experience.
