Relocation Authorized: NoneTelework Type: Full-Time Office/ProjectWork Location: SantiagoJob Summary: In this role, you will supervise a team of environmental engineering personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve environmental engineering investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive successful implementation of recommendations to improve the environmental impact of engineering projects.
Major Responsibilities: Planning, developing, directing,
and participating in the day-to-day Environmental Engineering activity on small to medium sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of personnel assigned, estimating staffing needs and scheduling and assigning work accordingly.Providing the technical input to meet procurement requirements.Preparing or overseeing the preparation of Environmental Engineering discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and managing implementation and performance accordingly.Reviewing and making recommendations of the Environmental Engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.When directed, coordinating with client representatives to obtain their approval of Environmental Engineering aspects of the work.Reviewing and approving key calculations,
licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned.Ensuring that assigned Environmental Engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.Assisting in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Geographer, Architect or related career, and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:
Sound experience in supporting engineering projects for assuring the early integration of environmental and permitting criteria in the design.Experience in mining sector.Clear understanding of engineering requirements for environmental assessment process (in SEIA) according to the local regulation and standards.Analytical thinking for defining the permitting strategy of a project, estimation of waste and wastewater generation, estimation of air emissions.Team leadership, proactive, collaborative and multidisciplinary work.Advanced English level.
