About the Role
Reporting to the Infrastructure and Services Leader,
this role will support the management of contracts and subcategories within the Minerals Americas portfolio, primarily in services to the personnel of the Assets.
Main Responsibilities:
• A primary commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
- Provides senior leadership to teams focused on developing contractual strategies, bidding and awarding contracts, planning, reviewing, analyzing, negotiating and settling claims, and closing contracts.
- Control of monthly category expenses.
- Develops effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, forecast demand, and ensure that established contracts are effective.
- Identifies opportunities and controls associated with the category.
- Develops collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives.
- Executes against the control framework for master data management; maintains the quality and accuracy of information.
- Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive better decision-making and planning.
- Generates action plans alongside operations to achieve budgeted expenditures.
- Identifies and implements improvement initiatives in the processing infrastructure category.
- Collaborates among Supply stakeholders (Region, Global, and across sub-functions) and operational teams to develop and execute category strategies, opportunities to reduce external spending through demand, price, and productivity levers.
- Gathers requirements and analyzes key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to create robust category and sourcing strategies.
- Develops sourcing and negotiation strategies using market intelligence and best practice tools such as clean sheets, e-auctions, TCO analysis, among others.
- Ensures integration of category strategy across the function (Purchasing, warehousing, inventory, logistics, COMEX, Payments, A&I;, Marketing) to ensure the lowest cost of incoming supply chain.
- Coordinates technical evaluation and any other non-commercial assessment of bids prior to negotiation.
- Creates, manages, and oversees contracts. Executes contract change orders according to business requirements.
- Conducts supplier performance reviews to track performance against contract and business requirements.
- Applies an understanding of end-to-end supply chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
- A relevant bachelor's degree for the position.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry with a focus on supply chain management or production areas related to processing infrastructure.
- Proven ability to influence and engage across functions and at the mine operation site.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes, risk factors, and control systems.
- Proven competencies in financial assessments and commercial project modeling.
- Knowledge of service management, operational processes, and maintenance.
- Risk management skills.
- Advanced Spanish and English speaker and writer.
- Experience with SAP systems, office automation, and contract management (desirable).
